FINAL UPDATE: A Letter to My Senators on Good Faith Toward 9-11 First Responders

Dear Senator,

I urge you to press for another vote this session on providing health benefits to 9-11 First Responders and volunteers.

Please call on the opposition to act in good faith and without further delay on this important matter.

Thanks for your leadership, Senator.

Kind regards,

Jim Hancock

FINAL UPDATE: AP reports passage of the bill.

UPDATE: MSNBC reports a deal has been reached in the Senate Wednesday Afternoon. Almost there...

  1. But here's where I'm still bothered, "The agreement reduces the total cost of the bill, closes the compensation fund after five years, and limits attorneys fees."
So they take a staunch stance on the wealthy getting their tax cut but will only agree when the total cost is cut??? Grrrrrrrr

  2. When you're right, your'e right. Alex Pareene's post at Salon is titled, "Coburn wins: Less generous 9/11 first responders bill will pass."

I think Senator Coburn's stinginess in this matter will haunt him when he is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Present. I hope with the same result...
